Athletica – Setting Up the Main Menu

WordPress comes with a powerful, yet easy to use menus functionality that lets you quickly set up a custom menu and place it in your theme’s supported menu areas or even in a widgetized area with the menu widgets. WordPress, and our themes, will start by adding all of your pages to the default navigation menu by default. You can then customize your menu in all our themes by going to Appearance > Menus.

To set up a new menu, please follow the steps below. Its best to already have your pages created, even if they are blank pages.

  • Navigate to Apperance > Menus page
  • Click the “+” icon to make a new menu. Enter the name and click Create Menu
  • In order to create a working menu for Athletica, you’ll need to create two menus – One for the homepage (with hashtags) and the one for the rest of the pages (Single blog, single portfolio,…)

Creating the Main Menu

  • Navigate to Apperance > Menus page
  • Click the “+” icon to make a new menu. Enter the name and click Create Menu
  • Your menu should be named Main Menu and its location set to Primary Menu
  • In order for your homepage menu to work properly with the animation scroll, you need to add menu items by entering a custom name and a custom link into the Custom Links Box
  • Please note that all the homepage boxes have their own ID and that the custom link should be the ID of the block

  • You can manage your menus using the drag and drop functionality. To create a dropdown menu, simply drag a menu item below and slightly to the right of another menu item and it will lock into place and create a dropdown section
  • Once you’re done, make sure you click Save.
  • NOTE: You’ll need to create another menu for all single pages. You can call it Single Menu and you need to set its location as Single Menu. Adding the menu items works the same way as for the one-page menu, however you need to add a link before the hashtag. for example: instead of #about, you’ll need to write
